Hey! My name is Rishon Victor Dsouza, I'm an upcoming software engineer and programmer, specifically I specialize in web development (and dabble in game development). Below you'll find a bunch more about my professional life so here I'll talk about my personal interests. I deeply enjoy music, in fact I play the bass! Lastly whenever time permits, I love playing video games, so much so I've tried making them myself.
Section 01
Digital Music Synth — This was a simple synth I made for my 3nd year university project, I was experimenting with Rust as it was fast enough do deal with audio. Basically it just was an envelope with controls for changing the attack, sustain and decay. It was hosted on a Raspberry Pi and I used a breadboard to connect the buttons, each pin corresponing to a specific action.
Project/Task Board — So after working with trello and other todo/task apps, I thought I'd take a crack at it. The site allows you to manage your tasks withing a project, and put each task under a "board". The way I personally used it was by treating each board like a progress state and would move tasks as they were complete or a W.I.P. Later I added a feature for creating and inviting people to a organization via link, there you can collaborate and track tasks on a communal board and handle multiple projects together.
Synced Audio Streaming — To explain this one, I need to paint a picture, so this was made specifically when a group doesn't have a speaker. This application syncs up all the devices and plays music from a playlist in a room, acting as a makeshift speaker. I'm still improving the actual "real-time"-ness as, the quality can be sub-par at times.
Section 02
Front End Developer - I worked for this start up called Tech Unicorn/CX Unicorn. One of the main services that they provided, and what I primarily worked on was courtroom digitization. I worked with a team to create a webapp that allowed staff of the court and others to manage cases, conduct and register for hearings and a whole suite of other services. Additionally there were other clients, for example there was one that requested for websites for the events they would host in the south-asian region.
Technical Lab Manager - This was a small community driven space that helped bright upcoming students at the neighbouring universities work on expanding their skillset or furthering them in the realm of STEM. I was responsible for managing and tutoring the interns, teaching them software developemnt, 3D printing and electronic engineering. On saturdays we would host webinars for anyone to attend, sometimes even featuring new and upcoming startups who had ideas to share.
